Hey, I’m so glad you stopped by.  Welcome to my little Atlanta, Georgia kitchen where delicious, gluten-free, sugar-free, blood sugar friendly dishes happen.  Would you believe you can have shakes, ice cream, cakes, lasagna, pizza, etc. all while keeping your blood sugar and cravings under control?  Yes, you can!  Even my husband, who is type II diabetic, can eat these dishes without his blood sugar going into orbit (it barely moves).  One of our favorites is my Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Shake.  All of my recipes or those in my recipe reviews have been tried and approved here in my kitchen.

Inspiration for this blog came from a life changing book I read called Trim Healthy Mama (THM), which was written by two fabulous sisters who really know their stuff when it comes to food.  The THM lifestyle is all about food freedom and eating healthy food while slimming down (if that’s the goal), which I was thrilled to find.  My THM cookbook already looks like it’s been around forever with the turned down, dog eared and tabbed pages.  Let’s not forget the spills already on my beloved cookbook.  It’s the most used cookbook in the history of my cooking career (there have been many, many cookbooks), and has thus been dubbed “The Magical Cookbook.”  I am not endorsed or paid by THM, but I highly recommend you take a look through the links above.

It’s not one bit necessary to be on the THM plan to enjoy the THM-friendly recipes on this site.  However, if you are following THM, I’ll list the THM meal or snack type along with my recipe when possible.  Also, I’ll try to list my husband’s type II diabetic blood sugar readings in the “Notes” whenever possible before and after eating/drinking a recipe for those of you who might be interested.  This will be a personal account of my husband’s blood sugar.  I know everyone is different, and has different outcomes with diabetic blood sugar readings.  Come cook with me!  It’s oh so delicious!
