Tulip Farm in The Land of Whimsy

I’ve been playing in the paints again, so I just wanted to share this one with you.  This watercolor was inspired by an enchanting barn I spotted while visiting Upstate New York a few years ago.  It was old and full of character with many tales to tell.  This barn that called my name was perched high up on a hill next to a gnarly looking vineyard in the dead of winter.  Well, I didn’t paint the dead of winter, nor did I paint the gnarled vineyard because things are always bright and full of life in The Land of Whimsy.

Fly Me to the Moon

Fly Me to the Moon
Fly Me to the Moon

Fly Me to the Moon was inspired by my love of dragonflies as spiritual messengers.  This magical creature, also known as the keeper of dreams in American Indian culture, seemed the perfect combination for a dreamcatcher.A favorite dragonfly quote:  “I am the dragonfly rising on the wings of unlocked dreams on the verge of magical things.”  – Aimee Stewart
